Mediation & Facilitation
Mediation and facilitation are often crucial within professional teams in children's social care due to the complex and emotionally charged nature of the work. These teams are responsible for making critical decisions that impact the lives of vulnerable children and families, often under significant time pressures and within a framework of diverse professional opinions and perspectives. The stakes are high, and disagreements or conflicts can easily arise. At Been-There Care, we offer mediation and facilitation, and provide structured methods to navigate these challenges, ensuring that all voices are heard, conflicts are resolved constructively, and decisions are made in the best interest of the children. Our team offers guidance on open communication and collaboration, that helps maintain a cohesive team environment, ultimately leading to better outcomes for the children and families you serve.
Jon studied conflict resolution and mediation whilst working with Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities leading to a University of London masters degree before specialising in both restorative and solution focussed approaches to resolving conflict. He has used these skills extensively in small-group and community mediations in local government, emergency services, the voluntary sector, and in faith group settings.
Jon is qualified and equipped to offer mediation to individuals and groups caught up in conflict, to coach individuals needing support to manage their own conflicts, and to train groups and teams in de-escalation.
Alex has been a driving force for cross-collaboration in her previous managerial positions, enhancing communication between teams and departments to create a more efficient working environment.
